Book Exchange Forum Instructions

Has your Book Club finished a good book lately? Do you have a lot of cookbooks but only use a few? Join our Book Exchange Forum and get new books for the cost of the shipping.

Here’s what you need to participate in our Book Exchange Forum:

1. 8-10 gently used copies of a book or a gently used cookbook.
2. Mailing materials for the books (i.e. tape, brown paper, a box).
3. Money to pay the Media Rate Postage.
4. A current email address.

How to use the Book Exchange Forum:

1. Click the “Place an Ad” tab and fill out the information required, including your book’s title, author and the number of books (for Book Club Exchange only) in the “Ad Title” window. Select either “Book Club Exchange” or “Cookbook Exchange” under “Ad Category”.
2. Search our forum posts for someone that has something that you want.
3. Contact that person by email and see if they’re willing to swap for what you have listed.
4. If you agree to an exchange of books, trade mailing addresses via email, pack up the books and ship them “Media or Book Rate” to your recipient via the US Postal Service. Media Rate or Book Rate will cost you no more than $5.50 for 10 pounds of books. Follow the link to

5. Be patient with your Forum friends. Media Rate saves lots of money but can take up to 14 days to arrive, longer around the holidays.

Note: If you ship a cookbook or book club books to someone and don’t receive items in return within 21 days, please send them a follow-up email. If they don’t reply, post to the forum that the person is “NOT A GOOD BOOK SWAPPER”. We’re betting, though, that our visitors are upstanding citizens and that this won’t happen often.
