Do you have issues with your hair? I can tell you that I’ve battled with my thick, dry, frizzy hair for my entire life. For that reason, I have never been frugal about the products that I use, assuming that the more you spend the better the products. Well, I’m here to tell you that in the last year (when I reluctantly adopted frugal living), I’ve discovered two drug/grocery store products that have trimmed down my haircare budget and still do the job quite nicely.
The first product is Dove Daily Moisture Therapy Shampoo for Dry or Damaged Hair. I LOVE this shampoo. At first I thought it would be too harsh with its $4.99 price tag, but I have been pleasantly surprised. The best thing about this shampoo is that it gets out the 5-10 layers of styling products that I have used since my previous wash and lets me start over with squeaky clean, shiny hair. You can get a two-pack of twelve ounce bottles at Amazon.com for $10.15 and get free shipping if you are a Prime Amazon member. What a bargain!
My other new go-to product is Pantene Pro-V Beautiful Lengths Conditioner. It feels nice and thick going on but it rinses out completely without leaving any slimy feel on your hair. I have tried SO many beauty supply conditioners, my favorite costing $25 for 8 ounces, and I honestly feel that this product can stand up against any of the pricier conditioners. You can get a 12.5 ounce bottle for $5.01 at Amazon.com.
