Carmella always made this on The Sopranos. I bet she makes her own sauce, though.
1 box of uncooked penne pasta
1 jar spaghetti sauce, any style is fine
2 cups ricotta cheese
1 cup mozzarella
1 tsp. oregano
½ tsp. fresh ground pepper
1/3 cup Parmesan
Boil the pasta according to the directions on the box. Drain. Mix the oregano and pepper with the spaghetti sauce.
In a 13 x 9 pan, spread 1/3 of the tomato sauce. Layer 1/2 of the pasta and ½ the ricotta. Layer 1/3 of the sauce, the other half of the pasta, and then ricotta. Top with the last of the sauce, the mozzarella and the parmesan on top.
Bake uncovered in a 350 degree oven for 35-40 minutes. Let stand for 10 minutes before serving.
Good sides or starters: Caesar salad bag and a baguette.
